The exterior facade of anodised perforated sheet elements, which surrounds the robust steel composite reinforced concrete construction of the new building in relief like a metallic skin, reflects the architectural demands of the car park: with the diagonally structured metal facade shimmering in shades of gold and brown, a sensual and valuable expression is achieved which reflects the uniqueness of this car park and the location. The double-barrelled spiral ramp integrated into the western part of the car park looks like a sculpturally shaped body made of exposed concrete. The slightly bent perforated sheet panels create a plasticity of the facade that always looks different in the light of the changing seasons of day and year.

An approx. 210 x 37 m car park (P14) was built in the vicinity of Airport City and the airport terminals 3 and 4. The Stuttgart Airport Bus Terminal (SAB) is located on the ground floor of the new building. The long-distance bus station designed for the city of Stuttgart has a total of 18 bus platforms, which are served by national and international long-distance bus lines as well as local buses.
The SAB's space allocation plan includes a service point with waiting hall, ticket sales with offices, kiosk and sanitary facilities as well as an operations control centre. The approx. 1,550 parking spaces of the car park are distributed over the 6 floors above.

The project was realised in a working group with the engineering offices Mayr + Ludescher (supporting structure) and Thurm & Dinges (technical building equipment).
