Penthouse in Duisburg
- Druschke und Grosser Architektur Architekten BDA
Above the roofs of the Lower Rhine
Duisburg’s prime location: The creation of the new Wilhelmshöhe neighbourhood on the Kaiserberg also made way for this well-lit penthouse with a view over the Lower Rhine. Architects Druschke + Grosser have produced an exclusive living experience: This new build in Duisburg stands out with its great attention to detail and clever use of space. Architecture that speaks for itself.
The penthouse is characterised by its flowing room transitions that leave their mark in particular on the kitchen, dining and living area in combination with a spectacular rooftop terrace. The architectural concept also envisages closed spaces for relaxation and retreat, however. The walls, ceilings and floors are consciously restrained in their design, emphasising the key features of carefully selected room elements. The centre of the otherwise very open floor plan houses the architectural heart of the property, the guest bathroom, which stands out thanks to an optical effect with a lightly curved wall combined with a jib door and a very special surface.
The furnishings in this penthouse on the Kaiserberg are also of the highest quality: The KNX system from JUNG offers both safety and comfort, while F 40 push-button sensors provide intuitive control. The LS 990 in white and aluminium is beloved by architects for lighting control and it won over the designers with its timeless and elegantly minimalistic design.
